// ABOUT VEXSL

ONE CONNECTION

VEXSL was created out of necessity.

Founded by Cole Fouillard, a Canadian Armed Forces veteran, disaster logistics specialist, and experienced Oil & Gas logistics operator, VEXSL was built from a career spent operating in high-risk, high-consequence environments where communication, coordination, and visibility are mission critical.

Cole's operational background includes military service in Afghanistan, major domestic disaster deployments including the Fort McMurray wildfires and Calgary floods, and years of complex logistics work across the energy sector. Through these experiences, he became a student of defence, industry, emergency management, and disaster response. He saw firsthand that when the pressure is highest, the same failures continue to appear: broken communications, limited situational awareness, and poor visibility of personnel, assets, threats, and resources.

In 2023, this became personal. During the West Kelowna McDougall Creek wildfire, Cole, his family, and close friends were evacuated. After witnessing the confusion, pressure, and gaps that affected residents, responders, agencies, and communities, he began researching after-action reports from major incidents across Canada and the United States. The pattern was clear: the problem was not local. It was global.

Emergency services, Indigenous communities, industry, oil and gas companies, mines, utilities, agencies, NGO's, defence organizations, contractors, and the public are all involved in readiness, response, and recovery. Yet most train, adopt technology, and operate inside their own silos. When a major multi-user event occurs, these groups are suddenly expected to work together without one shared communications layer, one common operating picture, or one trusted system for visibility.

VEXSL stepped forward to answer that call.

Through DISASTERFIELD, VEXSL has created the world's first Global Multi-User Coordination System — an end-to-end turnkey hardware and software solution delivered through a System-as-a-Service model. DISASTERFIELD connects the frontlines, command, system managers, aerial intelligence, communities, agencies, industry, Indigenous partners, and property owners through one coordinated operating environment.

The mission is simple: help every user become Disasterfield Ready.

By combining resilient communications, real-time situational awareness, asset and personnel visibility, aerial drone services, field technology, training, and system management, VEXSL helps customers enhance their existing capabilities and amplify their effectiveness before, during, and after disaster events.

VEXSL is veteran-owned and operated, with a commitment to creating purposeful career opportunities for military veterans, first responders, emergency management professionals, and those who want to build careers in high-stakes, mission-driven work.

We believe the future of disaster management and public safety depends on breaking down silos, connecting people before the emergency, and giving every stakeholder the tools they need to protect communities, infrastructure, investments, and lives.

Through two core divisions — Disasterfield and VEXSL Drone Services — we deliver standardized disaster coordination platforms, purpose-built aerial platforms, and secure data infrastructure across North America.
